CNG: A Cleaner Fuel

Our region is very close to exceeding federal air quality health-based standards for ground-level ozone, which business leaders agree would be bad for our economy. By using CNG, which greatly reduces the emissions that lead to ground-level ozone formation, Treasure Valley businesses can help improve local air quality while also saving money on fuel costs.

Natural gas in vehicles can reduce harmful emissions, including carbon monoxide, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), air toxins, and nitrogen oxide (NOx). Using CNG produces up to 89% less of the vehicle emissions that are the leading cause of harmful ozone pollution in the Treasure Valley and 20% to 30% less greenhouse gas emissions than using gasoline or diesel.
